Before you buy

Two conditions: the device has eSIM hardware AND is carrier-unlocked.
Operating system: Minimum OS to install (QR/manual): iOS 14.1+ or Android 10+. One-tap install: iOS 17.4+ or Google Play services 25.14.34+.
How to check it's unlocked: iPhone: Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock (“No SIM restrictions”). Android: Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Network Operators → turn off “Select automatically”.
Smartwatch: some watches support eSIM; install manually (SM-DP+ + code), not by QR.
